Heritage Learning Officer Vacancy

St Mary’s Church, Beverley is seeking a Heritage Learning Officer to develop the
interpretation and widen awareness of its unique collection of medieval and Tudor roof
bosses. This a part time post (equivalent 3 days per week) for 36 months and provides
opportunities for flexible working. Salary is £24,000 per annum (£14,400 pro rata).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional person who can be creative, reach out to the community and draw people to discover the extraordinary heritage of St Mary’s Church and the stories behind it.

The post is funded jointly by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and St Mary’s Church.
Reporting to the Project Manager, and working closely with the Vicar of St Mary’s, the Project Education Board, church staff, volunteers and specialist contractors, the Heritage Learning Officer will deliver the key objectives of the project with respect to: developing a wider understanding of the Bosses Project and the historical context of the church and its community; ensuring that all learning activities are accessible and inclusive; engaging with communities and individuals that have not in recent years been an integral part of heritage activities in the town; working with and co-ordinating the work of Church volunteers relating to learning activities; and working with and leading on work with schools, colleges, universities and other community organisations who can be engaged in learning.

Completed applications to be received by 12 noon on Friday 19th July 2019. Shortlisting will take place on Monday 22nd July 2019 and candidates invited for interview will be informed by 16:00 on that day. Interviews will be held on Friday 26th July 2019.
